CRISPR/Cas9 (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated protein 9) is a technology to edit genome through removing, adding or altering parts of the DNA sequence. The CRISPR/Cas9 system is composed of two parts, namely guide RNA (gRNA) and Cas9. Guide RNA recruits Cas9 endonuclease to a specific region of the genomic DNA, resulting in a double strand break.
